Hassan Mead finished 15th in the 10,000 meters at the IAAF World Championships this weekend.

One of the nation’s most prestigious cross country meets, the Roy Griak Invitational is set for Saturday, Sept. 26 at Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights, Minn.

The Gophers All-American and Big Ten champion runs in the 10,000 meters on Saturday.

A former letter winner, Griak served the University of Minnesota for more than five decades.

The Gophers now have 20 Academic All-District honorees including Bartnik, Jennings, Ferretti and Wieland.

The former All-American and All-Big Ten honoree for the Gophers closed out the relay for the U.S. as the team clocked a world-beating performance of 9:15.50 to win Sunday's distance medley relay competition.

Blankenship will compete as part of the men's distance medley team as Team USA defends the Golden Baton at the second annual event.

This year's event is scheduled for Monday, June 1 at Dellwood Country Club.

The Coon Rapids, Minn., native is a two-sport captain this season in cross country and track & field.
