Minnesota closes out the 2014 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday with John Simons competing in the men's 1,500 meter finals.

The Golden Gophers continue to compete at the NCAA championships on Friday with Wally Ellenson and Dominique Howard set to compete.

The two-time All-American still holds four University of Minnesota records.

The performance marks Minnesota's first outdoor All-America honor in the pole vault since Tye Harvey in 1998.

Minnesota will send five student-athletes to Eugene, Ore., this week for the NCAA Championships.
