Former Gopher track and field standout Liz Podominick earned a place on Team USA for the World Championships. She qualified at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa, on Sunday.

Four former Gophers head to the USA Outdoor Championships this week. Gabriele Anderson, Jamie Cheever and Heather Kampf (Dorniden) will represent the Gophers on the track, while Liz Podominic will be competing in a field event.

The University of Minnesota Athletics Department announced that assistant women's track and field coach Lynne Anderson has retired.

Laura Docherty makes her way to Eugene, Ore. this week for the NCAA Women's Track & Field Championships. The St. Paul, Minn. native makes her first appearance at the national meet and will compete in the 5,000-meter run.

Junior Laura Docherty qualified for the NCAA Women's Track and Field Championships, running a personal-record time of 16:10 to finish fifth in her section and ninth overall in the 5,000 meters at the NCAA West Preliminary Round in Austin, Texas.
